It's that time again! Tommy started 3rd grade on Monday. He has the year round school, that is why they are starting so early. Probably not gonna be much happening here on my blog this week, so bear with me :)

ALIEN EYES

Alien Eyes is what Little called this mani when I showed it to him - so that's the name I'm going with.

I painted a white base coat down, then used Color Club's gold crackle polish. Then I added the "alien eye" using black iron on nailheads I found at Michael's.

FYI - No I didn't "iron on" the nail heads, I know someone's gonna ask. I just used topcoat to make them stick.

MILANI ONE COAT GLITTER - PURPLE GLEAM

Ahhh, the crowning jewel of the swatches I have shown you. I fell deeply in love with this color. This color is nothing short of AMAZING! I need the rest of the glitter from this collection - I just decided! While it wasn't quite a one coater - once coat did apply way better than most glitters. What makes this color so awesome is the black that is in this. Even after looking at these close up pictures I'm still not certain if this is in a black base or has very small micro black glitter in it. Either way - get this!

This dries to a cool matte look - of course I want my glittah to shine, but I took a picture of this without top coat so you could see the cool matte effect of this one. It is at the very bottom of this post.

One other VERY awesome thing about this polish was that it removed really well too. The glitter is so small that it didn't want to stick to my nails and removed much better.

MILANI JEWEL FX - GEMS

Ya'll KNOW I liked this one - glittah is my thing! Gems is VERY similar to Lippmann's Happy Birthday. They are almost dupes, but not quite. The glitter colors are a little different and the shape of some of the glitter is different. However, with out a close up photo and side by side comparison, you can't really tell the difference. Shown is 2 coats - and you can see how well this covered.

MILANI NEON - FRESH TEAL

First off, as I'm sure you can tell from the pictures, the bottles are painted. That is why my nails color looks different. I personally don't like painted bottles, I like to see exactly the color that is inside the bottle for that reason alone, the colors aren't exact.

That being said, I do like the color Fresh Teal. This applied very nice with only 2 coats. Like most neons, it dried to a matte finish. The pictures shown are with top coat.

MILANI HIGH SPEED FAST DRY - INSTANTANEOUS BLUE

This is an electric Smurf blue polish. This was a little on the thin side and required 4 coats, you could do three but I liked it better with four. It has some cool shimmer to it that I thought made it look like a waterfall on my nails.

MILANI - HIGH SPEED FAST DRY - JIFFY ORANGE

I have really had a thing for orange nail polish this summer - and this might be my favorite I've worn so far. This has a great brightness to it, but it isn't neon orange. This was super creamy to apply. I love this color with my skin tone.

Good morning! Today I have several Milani nail polishes that I want to share with you.

The first one is a holo polish from their 3D Holographic line called 3D. This is a gold holo polish that is beautiful! This applied really nice in only two coats. It has that really chunky look to it, but is completely smooth. I really like that effect.

STOLEN POSTS UPDATE

Just wanted to update everyone on the status of my stolen posts. I filed a copyright complaint through Blogger and they were WONDERFUL fast in getting my posts removed from that "blog". It took them less than a day to remove the requested posts.

I have made it my mission to try and inform everyone that I could, who had stolen posts/pics, of what this idiot was doing. I even noticed two people that joined the "blog" and the one that I could find a way to contact them, I let them know just what kind of a "blog" they had joined and I was sure they were unaware that everything on that "blog" was stolen.

I also noticed today that all but two posts remain on this "blog"!! However, it appears that even one of them was stolen too, so I sent an email to that person urging them to file a copyright complaint on their stolen material. I did notice that they at least had the original web address listed at the bottom, but didn't link it.

I hate to even give this person any hits, but I feel the need to continue to check this blog and notify people of their stolen material. Hopefully Blogger will shut this "blog" down as they are a repeat offender.

I also wanted to say THANK YOU to each and every one of you that took the time to leave me a comment on my original stolen posts post. Whether it was an encouraging word or an idea of what to do, I appreciate them all. I'm sending you all a virtual hug and virtual bottle polish - sorry, it's the best I can do, lol! Seriously, thanks girls - good to know I have you all in my corner.

Anyway - I will be back to my normal posting next week. In the meantime - please enjoy my baby girl Dinky snuggling ever so tightly with her favorite toy, her bunny :)

I'm sure most of you have heard about the TV Guide Networks new show, Nail Files. It follows Katie Cazorla and her unpredictable life as a blonde bombshell business owner of the nail salon The Painted Nail.

When I first heard about this show I was excited, a show about a nail polish salon, I'm IN! Then I realized I didn't have TV Guide Network and was a little bummed. So when the show premiered I asked around on facebook for other nail polish bloggers thoughts. Most really seemed to like it. I did however, catch about a 2 minute clip of the show and I have to say, I was turned off.

Since then I have watched the first full episode and I have to say my opinion changed. The show was actually cute and even funny in some parts. I found myself laughing a couple of times during the episode. Katie is one of those people that seems like she stays in hyper over drive though.

Below I have two nail polishes from The Painted Nail. The polishes are made by Nubar, so you know the quality is good. Since she has several celebs that come to her salon, she will sometimes ask them to name a polish for her, which I think is pretty awesome. On the website, it will usually say if a celeb named a certain polish. The polishes are a bit more expensive than Nubars, at $12.50 each. They can be purchased HERE.

SILVER SCREENED
Named by Hilary and Haylie Duff
This polish is a sheer, light pink sugary color. It looked frosty in the bottle, but didn't come out frosty on the nail. It gave my nails a nice, clean sugar glazed look. This is three coats though, so the color isn't buildable at all.

KATIE SPARKLES
I assume named after Katie Cazorla. I really liked this one, go figure! This is a round silver glitter in a clear base polish. The silver is super sparkly. I am wearing three coats for the swatches. While you can see it doesn't completely cover the nail, it is so sparkly though you can't tell.

I don't know why, maybe it is the pastel colors, but this mani makes me think of a baby blanket. I used Sinful Colors Beverly Hills and Unicorn and then used OPI White Shatter. I then stamped a heart on the top - awwwww!

Good morning! Today I am sharing part 2 of Color Clubs addition to the crackle craze. Color Club has added a gold, magenta and electric blue. The electric blue is my favorite, I wore this over black for like 4 days - that is like a marathon for me. The gold was a little tricky for me, and I found it works best over a dark base color to really show up. The gold isn't a solid gold, it is kinda piece-y, if that makes sense. I like the color additions, great job Color Club.

Today I'm going to show you several NYX Girls nail polishes. Not to long ago they did a bottle makeover, and I really like it. And while I do love that the names of the polishes are printed on the bottles, you don't have to worry about a sticker falling off. I do think they should have some printed in black ink AND white ink, on the darker colors it is really hard to read what the polish name is, and I know on a few bottles I got in the past I had to make my own label for it.

This is chocolate taupe - a perfect name for this color. It is the cool mushroomy, gray brown color that was all the rage a year or so ago. This was really creamy and smooth.

SWEET NAILS & SWEET FOOD

First up - the nails. This was my NOTD a couple of days ago. I really liked this color combo. I have had a hard time finding a color combo where I liked the white shatter. So I was very nicely surprised by this. I want to wear this again in the near future. I used China Glaze - Moulin Rouge and then OPI - White Shatter. Then I added a skull sticker for fun.

Now for the food! These were desserts I made for the Fourth of July holiday.

Reese's Peanut Butter bottom cupcakes. Basically you put a resses peanut butter cup in the bottom of a foil cupcake liner before adding your cake batter and backing. Let me just tell you - heaven!!!!!!!!!! I used a devils food cake and homemade chocolate butter creme frosting.

Vanilla cupcakes with a light cream cheese butter creme frosting and red, white & blue decorations.

I made three kinds of brownies, but only took a picture of this one. The others were plain and caramel swirl. This one is a cheesecake swirl brownie topped with leftover chocolate butter creme frosting, chocolate sprinkles, vanilla crunch sprinkles and dark chocolate crumbles.

SINFUL COLORS - BEVERLY HILLS COLLECTION

Today I have swatches from Sinful Colors new collection called Beverly Hills. I was pretty impressed with these polishes, especially the lighter ones. They really were opaque and non streaky, with the exception of Unicorn. These all pretty much only required 2 coats. I did a have a few small bubbles pop up, but it wasn't anything that would ruin your mani. These were found at Walgreens for $1.99 each. They also all came with a matching beaded ring with a glittered rose.

Those who have been reading my blog for a while know that I have a huge love for over the top Japanese style nail art. I just love it everything about it. When I did a review of some products from the Born Pretty store a while ago, I requested these little candy, sweets nail arts. I knew when I used them I wanted them to last, and I paint my nails way to often to use them on my hands. So I got with my awesome local nail salon POLISHED NAIL SALON, and Samantha created this wonderful pedi!

She was worried she was putting too much stuff on my toes, but I assured her, I wanted every inch covered! I wanted the most over the top, tacky, fun pedi we could do. I think she accomplished my goal and then some! Thanks Samantha and all the girls at POLISHED NAIL SALON for making my toes the talk of the town, lol.

My patriotic attempt at the splatter mani. I painted a white base coat down first. Then I got a puddle of blue polish, dipped a straw in it, and then blew on the other end and let the polish splatter on my nails. Then did the same thing with the red polish.

I am so excited to share these pictures with you all. As soon as I saw this collection I knew I needed to have it. Deborah Lippmann took the awesome Happy Birthday - and built on it! This has me thinking she needs a whole line of polishes like this with different colored bases - we need a blue one and green one and red one and purple one and . . . .etc!

All of these applied really nice. They are all shown with three coats, but really you could get away with 2 if you really took your time to apply them.

I love how the pink base is still clear enough to let the glitters shine through and it also creates a really nice layered look with the glitter too. This is awesome!

FORGET YOU
The over the hill version of Happy Birthday - lol, get it?? Anyway, this is the black version and it is really awesome too. This one applied really nice with 2 coats, better than Happy Birthday & Candy Shop. I love the look of dark and then bam - glittah in your face!

The one that started it all! What can be said about this, that hasn't allready been said? It's a party in a bottle! This one is great because you can layer it over other colors or wear it on it's own.

Today I have some glittah for ya! I picked up this little mini collection at my local beauty supply for $3.99. It contained 6 mini glitter polishes from Kleancolor. I was surprised by how much I liked these on their own. I think I was most shocked by V.I.P. - the glitter colors I wasn't expecting, I just think it is amazing. Today I am showing you an old, limited edition Essie polish from 2009. This is Love, Beverly Hills xx, a gorgeous polish that is infused with 24k pure gold. While this was a limited edition, I have seen it for sale on Ebay and Amazon just yesterday. This polish is a little bit more expensive than your average Essie polish, which I think is due to the gold in it. I believe Christy over at Kronicles of a Konader sent this to me a while back, can't believe I just now used it for the first time - it's really pretty.

COLOR CLUB - FRACTURED COLLECTION PART 1

Today I am showing you the first three of six new colors from Color Club. They are calling their crackle line "fractured", which I think is pretty cool. I also think Color Club has come up with THE BEST names for their polishes - with Broken Tokens being my favorite, not only in name, but in color too.

I really liked these polishes, I thought they all fractured really well and I love that they changed the way the handle on the brush looks, so I can easily spot that it's a fractured polish. If I had one gripe, it would be the small brush. Don't get me wrong, the brush works great for their regular line of polishes, but I think a wider brush is best when working with a fractured polish. A wider brush makes it easier to make less brush strokes, which ensures the best looking fractured nails. You can see when I used Clean Break, I missed the middle section of my nail and had to make three swipes and the middle swipe just didn't fracture very well.

There are three more colors to be released with their fractured line - fuchsia, blue and gold. Gotta say, I'm really hoping the gold turns out to be like Broken Tokens just gold instead of silver. Overall - really great collection!

ZOYA - TOUCH COLLECTION

This is the Zoya Touch collection. This collection consists of 3 nude cremes with a touch of metallic. I thought Shay and Pandora were more flattering on me, they seem to be a little bit more pink than Minka. LOVE this glitter polish! This is part of the Serena two packs that came with a shatter polish. This one came with the white shatter polish and I hated the combo together. I just did not think it looked good at all. This glitter polish is so pretty and I think I just didn't like it covered up :)

I'm kind of on the fence about this color. The formula was a little runny and if I wasn't really careful it wanted to run into my cuticles, which you can see happened on my ring and pinky fingers. Also the color seemed just a little too brown for my liking. You may be asking yourself, why the heck did I get this color then - I think the last picture sums that up :)

A few weeks (yes weeks, don't judge!) after Tommy's last day at school I was cleaning out his back pack and came across this story he had written. I got the biggest kick out of it and I have had it hanging in my nail polish room. I thought you guys might like it too, so I decided to scan it in and share with all. LOVE this! Ya'll know how I like my polish bright - these LeChat Dare to Wear neons do not disappoint! They also wear really well too. Anyway - I used Spot Light for the base and then covered it with OPI Black Shatter. What a great combo :)

True Red is a bright red jelly polish. For a jelly, it is pretty opaque with only a small amount of visible nail line showing.

Wow, did this color give me lobster hands or what? I think this has a more "vintage" feel to it, than a "tropical" one. This reminds me of the color of old timey kitchen appliance colors.

I don't know, that's all I kept thinking of this after I got it done, lol. I started off with a base of China Glaze L8r G8r. Then I used a BM plate and did the criss cross pattern. Next I used another BM plate and did the darker green pattern. I used green rice shaped jewels and then added a sequin "necklace" design.

This was my NOTD a couple of days ago. It didn't last very long since I had so many coats of polish, plus I've really been doing some manual labor trying to get things ready for my party this weekend. I literally looked down and one nail was completely missing polish, the whole thing popped off like a fake nail, lol!

NOTD - NUBAR HYACINTH SPARKLE

How pretty is this? This is a light purple super blinged out polish! Hyacinth Sparkle is from Nubar's Sparkles Collection that came out last year. It has been my favorite collection from Nubar - glitters done how glitters should be done.

Not that it really needed, but for extra bling I added a top coat of Color Club Starry. Starry just gives it that really subtle almost diamond like sparkle, with flashes of green and blue glinting off of this beauty.

I might need to make me some t-shirts that warn people from looking directly at my nails in full sunlight :)

MEET MY 94 YR OLD AUNT HELEN

Here is my Great Aunt Helen - she rocks! She is 94 and came all the way from California for a visit. I wish I could express how awesome this lady is. I am just so glad that she is here and that I am getting to spend time with her. I tried explaining to Little how awesome it is that he is getting to know his Great Great Aunt.

I'm planning an outside evening party this Saturday for her, so I have been a little side tracked this week. I do have 5 more Ruby Kisses polishes that I am going to show you though, so look forward to that.

I also wanted to share this epic food fail I had last night. I was attempting to do rainbow cakes. I didn't have blue & purple food coloring on hand, so I had to improvise a bit. I substituted one of the colors for black, so the black parts you are seeing ARE NOT burned.

This is what it looks like when the oh so carefully prepared cakes don't want to come out of the pan!! Grrrrrr, I was so upset about this.

I did fill the pans a bit too full and cut the over flow parts off, which you will see below:

Those look kinda cool though, right? I glazed these little rounds but have no clue what to do with the other mess of cake.

This pan was the culprit. After reading online today, I see regular no-stick spray doesn't work, which is what I used. I guess I need Baker's Joy and I also think I needed a thicker cake, this one might have have been a little too light. Live and learn I guess :)

My bottle was missing a name label, but after a search I believe the name of this color is Green Tomato. This is a bright yellow green with shimmer. Really pretty color, reminds me of spring. I was worried this color was going to be thin, as these types of colors can tend to be, but it wasn't. Three coats to happiness :)

This is Ruby Slippers by Ruby Kisses - doesn't just about every nail polish line have a red glitter polish named Ruby Slippers?? I thought I was going to be totally unimpressed with this polish, sort of a been there done that type thing. I was wrong! I can't put my finger on what makes this one stand out, but it just does. Bold and the Beautiful is a super dark purple, maybe even what you would call a plum purple polish. This wasn't so much a jelly, but it has a really shiny finish like you find with jelly polishes. Again, purples are hard to capture, this is less blue and more purple in real life folks :)

I'm back - and continuing on with my Ruby Kisses swatches. Cast A Spell is another one from the HD line. This has a much richer purple color to it than shown in these pictures. Purples don't photograph well at all. This is much less blue in real life, and has a rich royal purple color to it.

Well, my nail polish room is coming along nicely. Last night I really worked on getting the room laid out how I want it. My original idea didn't work because of where the tv needed to be hooked up. So I switched it up and moved things around.

My idea is I would really like to paint the walls a lighter grey color with a darker grey for the windows and base boards. I have visions of a black and grey color scheme with punches of a brighter color, like turquoise.

I am going to paint this little table the tv is on black.
I also have some special shelves being built that will hang on this wall. They are black.

The corner with the boxes are my craft stuff. Plan on going through that and getting that stuff out of that corner soon.

My babies favorite spot. Dinky loves to be in here with me, you will always find her right there. If she had it her way she would be in my lap, but it's to hard to paint nails with her there - sorry Dinky!!
My chair needs to be recovered, but not sure how to go about doing that one just yet, and painting it black.

This is where the "magic" happens, lol. I do my sister's and mom's nails quite a bit, so I have a chair for them.
My plans are to recover this chair and paint it black.
I also plan on painting my desk black too.

HOTNESS!!! This beauty is called Peach on Fire - love the name!! I've noticed that these newer Ruby Kisses have had some funner names put on them. I love a good name to go with a good polish.

What is even more awesome about this bright orange neon is that it is a jelly too. It's not a full on jelly, it's a bit more opaque than your average jelly, but it still has that squishy jelly consistency we all love.

Ok Ya'll, I'm starting to post all of my Ruby Kisses HD polish swatches. I went on a swatch-a-palooza last night.

Mickey Mouse Me, wonder what the heck that name means and why it is on this color? Any guesses?? I bet this color would look awesome on you darker ladies, but on my skin tone it falls a little flat. The formula is like butter though and I am loving the new wide, flat brushes.

Found this new line of Ruby Kisses nail polish at one of my local beauty supply stores. Ruby Kisses is blowin' up ya'll .... lol :)

These appear to be the same bottles as the Sally Hansen Complete Salon line, the tops of the brushes are different though, they were hanging by that hole in the tops. The brushes are the new wide, flat ones. I saw about 20-30 colors offered in this line. As you can see from the price stickers, these are only $1.99 each. I only found the HD line of Ruby Kisses at one of FOUR beauty supply stores I have been to in the last week that carry Ruby Kisses, so I am thinking it must be a pretty new line.
